BASIC SAFETY TRAINING

The objective of this training program is to provide seafarers with the necessary knowledge and skills in order to prevent and combat fires, ensure personal safety, fulfill social responsibilities, administer elementary first aid, and apply personal survival techniques in emergency situations while at sea.

Seafarers who currently hold a Personal Survival Techniques (PST) certification must complete this updated proficiency course every five years to maintain their proficiency in accordance with the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) 1978, as amended.

Seafarers who possess a valid Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (FPFF) certification must complete this proficiency course every five years to maintain their proficiency in accordance with the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) 1978, as amended.

Advanced Diploma in Nautical Science (Formerly known as HND-NS)

  • Course duration for 2 years, 1 year in India at Training Ship Varren Pune campus & 1 year in UK in City of Glasgow College, Approved by the Maritime Coastguard Agency (UK).
  • After completing the training, candidate has to complete 12 months of on board training.
